A passenger has been arrested at the Bali airport after he attempted to hijack the Virgin Blue passenger plane which was on its way to Bali from Brisbane, Australia, according to latest reports. The plane was later forced to land at Indonesia’s Bali airport after the passenger tried to enter the cockpit.
The plane’s pilot raised the alarm after the passenger tried to enter the cockpit in an attempt to take over the plane.
Indonesian air force spokesman Hadi Tjahjanto told MetroTV news channel that troops had boarded the plane.
“We they got the information that a 737-800 from Brisbane to Bali has been hijacked, Tjahjanto said.
It is being learnt that the arrested passenger was drunk as told to the news channel by the Virgin official.
Virgin Australia has said that the Bali plane incident was a “misunderstanding”, not hijack.
