Is elderly couple blackmailing Dhanush for money?

Tamil superstar and son-in-law of Rajinikanth – Dhanush – is going throw a real life drama. An aged couple have claimed that Dhanush is their son. However, they also alleged that the superstar has producing a fake birth certificate. Nevertheless, Dhanush had denied their claim and accused the couple of trying to “blackmail” him. He had produced a birth certificate which stated that he was born on July 28, 1983 at the Children’s hospital at Egmore, Tamil Nadu and that his parents were Krishnamoorthy and K Vijayalakshmi, he was given the name R K Vengadesha Prabu.

The old couple submitted that Dhanush was born at the Government’s Rajaji Hospital in Chennai on November 7, 1985 and his name was Kalaichelvan. He had studied in Madurai district till the 10th standard. He was admitted to a private school at Tiruppatur in Sivaganga district. The Class 10 certificate of the actor that was produced by the couple points to a mole near his collar bone and a scar on his left elbow. They argue that the birth certificate presented by Dhanush is fake and obtained 10 years after his birth. The couple has claimed that Dhanush was their third son and also sought a monthly maintenance of Rs. 65,000 as they were in a very poor financial position.

This entire episode leaves many doubts here, if Dhanush is their son, why they didn’t claims till now? Suddenly, how they discovered that he is their son? When son lost and found parents shows affection towards child, but here they are seeking monthly maintenance from him. What is the motive behind the drama? Is it for money sake or to seek publicity, as he is not only superstar but a son-in-law of a superstar? Meanwhile as per their claims, Dhanush is their 3rd son, why the other two children failed to take care of their parents? Why there is no claim against those two sons? If they are taking care of old couple, why they landed up demanding money from Dhanush? Is it the brain of those two sons that instigated parents get in this case?

Following the direction from the court, counsel for the actor submitted Dhanush’s Class X education certificates and a transfer certificate establishing that he studied in Chennai. The court asked both the parties to submit the school documents after actor Dhanush filed a petition in the high court seeking to quash the couple’s petition in the lower court, which also sought maintenance. The actor denies that he is their son and believes that somebody is behind them (the couple) trying to extract money from him. That can be couples two sons. In addition to the school certificates, the actor’s counsel also submitted additional materials to prove that Dhanush’s first movie ‘Thulluvadho Illamai’ got released on May 6, 2002 contradicting the couple’s claim that the actor had registered for employment in June 2002 and that he was subsequently admitted to class 11 in a Sivaganga school.

Besides, it was said that the name of the father in the birth certificate is Krishnamoorthy. The records have a different story to tell. It shows that Krishnamoorthy changed his name as Kasturi Raja on February 18, 2015. However, one thing was evident that the Tamil movie ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’, released in May 2002, was directed by Kasthuri Raja.

Now, the desperate couples have filed a sub-application for a DNA test. The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court stayed all further proceedings in a maintenance case filed by a Melur elderly couple. After the actor’s counsel opposed the plea for a DNA test, the judge said it was unfair on the part of the couple’s counsel to have not filed a sub-application for a DNA test all these days.

The old couple – Kathiresan and Meenakshi – claim that Dhanush joined film director Kasturi Raja, who is believed to be his biological father, as a domestic help and was accepted as a son following his success in the film world. Mr. Kathiresan claims that Mr. Raja belonged to Naicker community (BC) from Theni district. Dhanush’s lawyers, however, claim that the couple lodged a fake complaint in an attempt to extract money from the actor. Kathiresan, 63, works as a bus conductor while his wife is a housewife. Dhanush’s father-in-law the super hero of Tamil film industry Rajinikanth was also bus conductor by profession before joining film industry.

In 2011, Dhanush received international attention with his popular song “Why this Kolaveri Di”, which became the first Indian video song to cross 100 million views on YouTube. Dhanush produces films under his production company, Wunderbar Films. He has won three National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards. Dhanush entered acting after being pressurised by his brother, director Selvaraghavan. Dhanush married Aishwarya, Rajinikanth’s daughter and they have two sons named Yatra and Linga who were born in 2006 and 2010.

In this entire story, one can establish the motive of the older couple that is purely a financial gain. They have nothing to express for the son or their grandchildren. If money is the only motive, the actor could have got rid of it by paying them, but if the claims are false, then truth has to be exposed and justice should be delivered.
