On June 25, 2016, Saturday, a girl, named Pramila, was being eve-teased at Rangoli Dance Bar in Kandivali (West). Allegedly, a nerd named Stewart Pappu teased the girl. Further, finding her alone in the changing room, he put his hand over her waist offering her to accompany him.
After the incident the girl having called her friend, reached at the place almost after an hour. Consequently, quarrel took over amongst the bar manager, victim and her friend and three others present there.
On the contrary, friend in rescue had to bear the beatings and the girl was flung to the floor by the main culprit. Bar manager seem to have supported the culprit having said to the girl that bar is a place where such things are common, if uneasy, she must have had stayed at home.
Later, at around 12:30 at night, the girl registered an FIR against the accused at a police station in Kandivali (West).
Immediately after the FIR, investigation was undertaken by inspector Rathod. The accused, Pappu and three others were taken into bars at the same night itself.
Investigation is still on. Allegedly, other two flee from the place where incident took place. Search is on by the police.
Afternoon voice had a word with the victim, Pramila, she having revealed that it is a place where girls become prey to such teasing on frequent basis. But because it is their source of bread-and-butter, they, unwillingly, have to remain quiet over such torture done to them. Further she added that even though being a place like a dance bar, people ought to abide by some decorum. They cannot become this intimate. Yet, the bar manager himself was a part of this incident. It is a victim like Pramila, who raised her voice over such torture. Many go unidentified.
