Expansion of Union Cabinet tends to end alliance-politics

Union Cabinet has been expanded on 03.09.2017 with new ministers coming only from ruling party BJP with even no consultation made with other NDA allies. It was possible because BJP in 2014 Elections to Lok Sabha got absolute majority at its own while alliance with other parties was made before polls when such a massive BJP victory was never hoped.

Prime Minister and BJP President by deciding ministerial expansion as an internal party affair have paved for party-based political system rather than a black-mailing alliance system. Top leadership of BJP should now plan strategy for 2019 Elections to Lok Sabha in a manner that its allies may better join BJP. Same holds true for opposition UPA, where all the constituents may rally behind a leader to contest as a single strong party.
