A school is a place of learning for a child. The institution is a training ground for him. Here he forms new associates, comes in contact with boys and girls of different temperament and forms new ideas and habits. It is here that he prepares himself for the stage of life. So the right type of educational school is of great importance for him which will enhance his career further.
My mother had taken me to school on the first day. Other parents too accompanied their children as well. We all waited in front of the school office as a new academic year was about to begin for us. Soon a teacher arrived and led us to our classroom. Subsequently, some children began to cry as the parents were not allowed to enter the classrooms. I did not cry because I had been to kindergarten before. Actually my mother went home soon after she knew I would be all right.
I remember that my first day of school was a Monday and my mother had packed two sandwiches in my lunch box to be eaten during the recess. The first day of school was very tense but I soon became accustomed to it. My class teacher was very gentle and behaved politely with students. She encouraged us and treated us very nicely. Soon I got used to the new environment as I started attending school regularly.
When the bell for the recess rang, boys rushed out of the classroom. Some of them gathered around me. They laughed at me and made fun at me. A few sympathized with me and befriended me. After the recess, we went back to our classroom and my new friends and I managed to coax two boys to stop crying. In fact, soon we were laughing and playing together. Once in a while, the teacher had to tell us to keep quiet as we were making too much noise.
When the bell rang for us to go home at one in the afternoon, I felt very relieved, so were the other students. I too was glad to see my mother waiting for me at the school gate. I had made many friends. It was a wonderful first day at school for me as I cherish those moments even today.
