Forty eight per cent posts lie vacant in MPEC

(MPEC) is facing 48% staff crunch and that too at crucial posts, revealed an RTI filed by activist Anil Galgali. Out of the 52% employed, the division comprises 22 government servants, 35 on contract and 12 from outside. Key Posts of State Projects Director, Joint Director (Administration) & Joint Director (quality) lie vacant.

Galgali had sought information on the various posts sanctioned, filled and vacant via RTI with MPEC. Joint Program Officer Pramod Gavkar in his reply informed Galgali that for 37 posts, 133 were strength sanctioned, 69 were filled and 64 were vacant. All three important key posts remain vacant. Thirty five are working on contracts and 12 posts are occupied by outsourcing agencies. Key Posts of State Projects Director, Joint Director (Administration) & Joint Director (quality) lie vacant.

Galgali also asked for information in regard to appointment of Project Director’s post since 2012. Apart from AD Kale & AD Shinde, the posts were occupied by full time working Directors. School Education Secretary Nandkumar is now also incharge of post of State Project Director.

Galgali in his written application to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Education Minister Vinod Tawde has demanded the posts to be filled with immediate effect from the government itself, rather than depending on outside agencies or contract.
