Team India is in a winning spree and the Team led by Rahane was on cloud nine after the stupendous show at Dharamsala. The Gudi Padwa day saw, Mumbai batsman’s team came victorious against all odds after losing the first test in Pune. His team outplayed Australia in all the 3 sections of the game and it was a good show against formidable opponent rather than the win against New Zealand, England and Bangladesh in recent times.

Team India played to a plan and won the match within four days and by 8 wickets to record a series win in a four match series. Thus, India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and also retained the ICC Test Championship mace and also won a cash award of $ one million for holding on the top position in Test Team rankings. To add to the silver lining, Jadeja became “Man of the Match” as well as ‘Man of the Series’ for his extra ordinary skills with bat and ball both.  The icing on the cake was the performance of Ravichandran Ashwin as an all-rounder as he received the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC cricketer of the year 2016. It was indeed Game, match and the series for Team India, Kudos! To a young team.
