Gudi Padwa is a popular festival in India and is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu month of Chaitra. The festival generally coincides with the Udagi celebration in Andhra Pradesh, which is the New Year celebration festival for the people of the Deccan. Gudi Padwa is also the first day of Chaitra Navratri.
