Team India achieved their 8th win on the trot and that is a sort of record in test match cricket. Having achieved a 3-0 win against New Zealand and following it up with a 4-0 win against England and beating babes Bangladesh all fired up the series against the resurgent Australian side in our home turf. Virat Kohli’s leadership came to test and he emerged victorious in the first round. But the ensuing series against Australian side will be a tough one as they are having a young and talented side led by an experienced captain Steven Smith. India despite winning successive test matches, the openers failed to provide a sound start and that is worrying the team. We need to make up the loss of early wickets and Australians won’t allow us to score 500 and 600 runs. India thus equalled their longest undefeated streak at home of 20 test matches, in which we recorded 17 wins and 3 drawn matches. A drawn test match against England at Rajkot prevented a long winning streak. Kudos to Kohli forgoing undefeated.
