India’s victory after a decade-long wait

Indian sports touched twilight of its history on a Sunday Delight. India lifted the Asia Cup hockey title after 10 years as the team won Asia Cup by a 2-1 margin against Malaysia at Dhaka. Indian ace Kidambi Srikanth cruised through with a 21-10, 21-5 victory over his opponent Lee-Hyun-II of South Korea to win his third super series Premiere title in style. The 37 year old Lee Hyun was stumped by Srikant’s shots and the match ended in 25 minutes with the Indian served consistently and placed the shuttle in empty spaces on the court with deft placements. In all it was a one sided affair all the way. It was indeed a satisfactory Sunday as Gaganjeet Bhullar won his 8th Asian Tour title on a big day for sports fans in India. But for an odd defeat for Indian cricket team against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium it was indeed a sporting Sunday. Now it is time to give importance to other games just like cricket as our sporting personalities in other field of sports shine better.
