Time and again, these speculations were made and then clarified too from his aide. Now, the gossips of the Dawood Ibrahim-having Gangerene are discussed widely. However, many police officers and intelligence reports refuted the news and they remained clueless about such information.
According to Indian official claims, Dawood Ibrahim was believed to be living in Pakistan and later in the United Arab Emirates. According to Indian claims he has shifted to Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Indian sources added that “Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) appeared extremely wary of the new Indo-US co-operation to fight terrorism. The Inter-Services Intelligence and Dawood appear under a lot of pressure; on 5th May 2015 MP Haribhai Chaudhary informed the Lok Sabha that the whereabouts of Ibrahim were unknown. However, on 11th May, Home Minister Rajnath Singh told the parliament that Ibrahim was in Pakistan and he will bring him back to India. According to Times Now on 22 August 2015, Dawood was in Karachi, Pakistan. According to the said media corporation, they had conversation with a woman in Karachi on August 22, 2015. Transcripts of conversations which were published on the news agency’s website, in one conversation she said that she is Dawood’s wife and “he is sleeping”, while in the second conversation she said that there was no one by that name known to her. According to a dossier prepared by India in August 2015, to be handed over to Pakistan, Dawood Ibrahim has nine residences in Pakistan and has three Pakistani passports which he frequently uses to travel. Anyway, now the news says he is been treated in Karachi hospital.
In September 2013, as proof of Dawood Ibrahim’s presence in Pakistan, the dossier was prepared by New Delhi for NSA-level talks with Islamabad, the report then said that the Dawood acquired a new residence in Karachi’s Clifton area that is close to the residence of Bilawal Zardari, son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The dossier cites the address as Shireen Jinnah Colony, near Ziauddin Hospital, Clifton, Karachi. Another new residence purchased by Dawood is located at Main Margalla Road F-6/2, House No.7, Islamabad, the dossier adds. Not only his address but many such crucial details are surfaced in reports but irony is that, Indian government and intelligence across the world has failed to trap him.
In addition, details of four passports issued to Dawood by Pakistan have been detected by India. These are: Passport No. G-866537 issued from Rawalpindi, C-267185 issued from Karachi, G-886537 issued from Rawalpindi and KC-285901 issued from Karachi. India has also found that Dawood’s wife Mehjabeen holds Pakistani passport J-589103, his son Moeen holds Pakistani passport J-588518, daughter Mahrukh — who is married to Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad’s son — holds Pakistani passport J-563473 and other daughter Mehreen holds Pakistani passport J-563439. Dawood’s brothers Anees and Mustaqin hold Pakistani passports H-144394 and KA-713357, respectively.
Indian agencies had earlier located the following nine addresses in Pakistan as Dawood’s hideouts: Moin Palace, near Abdullah Shah Gazi Dargah, Clifton, Karachi; 6/A, Khyaban Tanzeem, Phase-V, Defence Housing Area, Karachi; ISI Safe House located on the Bhoubhan Hill, around 20km from Islamabad on the Islamabad-Muree Road; Margalla Road, P-6/2, Street No. 22, House No. 29, Islamabad; 17 CP Bazar Society, Block 7-8, Amir Khan Road, Karachi; 30th Street in Ph-5 extension of DHA in Karachi; Abdullah Shah Gazi Saab Ki Mazar, Karachi; 8th floor of Mehran Square, near Pardesi House-3, Talwar Area, Clifton, Karachi and a Palatial Bungalow in the hilly area of Nooriabad in Karachi. Indian agencies were also in possession of an April 2015 telephone bill in the name of Dawood’s wife Mehjabeen with D-13, Block-4, Karachi Development Authority, Sch-5, Clifton, as the installation address. Not only that but the fresh photographs of Dawood were published in Indian newspapers, but still Pakistan denied his presence in their country, and most intelligent intelligence of India in spite of having so many details failed to nab the most notorious underworld gangster. Few agencies claim have documents that show that Dawood’s family members travelled between Pakistan and Dubai. They also have images of Dawood’s Pakistani passport. The last time a dossier on Dawood was shared with Pakistan was during Home Secretary level talks between the two countries on May 24-25, 2012 in Islamabad. The dossier reiterates that Dawood has been declared a “Global Terrorist” by the US Treasury Department on October 16, 2003. He was included in the UN Sanctions List as an associate of Al-Qaeda on November 3, 2003 under UN Security Council Resolution 1267, which obligates member countries to take action against individuals or entities in the list. The UNSC Special Notice on Al-Qaeda Sanctions List also mentions details of Dawood’s locations in Pakistan and his passport details.
Inspite of these details of Dawood’s whereabouts in Pakistan, the Pakistani government has failed to execute Interpol Red Corner Notice No. A-135/4-1993 issued against him, as well as discharges its obligations under the UNSC resolutions and set in motion the process of his extradition to India, the dossier charges. Narendra Modi made election promises of bringing back Dawood to India and for that they successfully plotted the arrival of Chhota Rajan. Amid of all such drama Dawood gang is planting news in Indian media and distracting public attention from his activities. No one knows, how long such stories going to be continued and people are forced to believe in such reports.
