Awarding a death sentence to rapists who rape children below 12 years of age is a welcome move on the part of the Indian government. We hope that all the victims of this heinous crime are not deprived of justice any longer. But why is this ordinance only for those who rape children below 12 years of age? Does this mean that all those who rape children and women over 12 years of age can seek pardon and be let out on bail?
