For last some days, dealers and Mother Dairy booths are forcing undesired one-litre pack of cow-milk since these packs are forced by Mother Dairy on milk-booths and other dealers. Milk is most sought in half-litre packs. Mother Dairy should better standardise polypack-milk only in half-litre packs, abolishing one-litre packs. It is time that Mother Dairy may add malai-curd in its list of premium products.
Sale of khoya increases tremendously during festive season of Diwali. Often there are complaints of adulterated khoya especially in urban areas. It is evident that practically available supply of khoya required for preparing sweets for Diwali sale cannot be fulfilled through regular milk-supply.
Central government should make some rule whereby sale of khoya in urban areas may only be allowed as packaged commodity through organised sector only. Apart from Mother dairy, there are many state-level cooperative giants like Amul, Sudha and Saras which can market khoya as packaged commodity.
