MMRCL officials drawing better salaries than CM

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd MD Ashwini Bhide’s draw lesser salary as compared to six officials working with the organisation. RTI Activist Anil Galgali had sought information about the salaries of officials and staff of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for the month of March 2016. The Deputy Accountant and Public Information officer of the MMRCL Ganesh Ghule provided him with a list of 119 officials and employees.

Anil galgaliSix officials drawing higher salaries are Project Director Subodh Gupta, System Director Ajay Kumar Bhat, Executive director R Ramanna, CFO Indraniel Sarkar, Executive Director (Electrical) R K Sharma, GM Civil Charuhas Jadhav as per information provided to RTI Activist Anil Galgali by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

The officials drawing higher salaries are Project Director Subodh Gupta Rs 2,08,706, System Director Ajay Kumar Bhat Rs 2,03,346, Executive Director (Electrical) R K Sharma Rs 1,92,945, Executive Director R Ramanna Rs 1,82,688, CFO Indraniel Sarkar Rs 1,51,936, GM Civil Charuhas Jadhav Rs 1,51,936 . R Ramanna the Executive Director was previously working illegally with the MMRDA and after the Govt’s order to remove him he resigned and joined Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

Anil Galgali said, “Apart from the salaries, these officials enjoy perks like government accommodation, vehicles etc. The government should monitor and conduct evaluation of the performance of such officials every 3 months to ensure that proper output of work is taken from those who have been appointed as the money being paid to them goes from the government exchequer.”

The Maharashtra CM’s salary is drawing a salary of Rs 57,000 and MD of the MMRCL, Ashwini Bhide receives a salary of Rs 1,43,051.
