It is a cause of concern that the Monorail remains off tracks and there are no takers to operate and maintain line services in Mumbai. Electric engines all suffer because of power failure and the commuter nightmare sends wrong signals even on regular passengers using this facility. It is indeed an odd experience that most of the people have suffered on monorail trip. With such hiccups to face, how people consider this to be a serious mode of transport within the city. It is evident that the billion dollar project is a failure and now there are no bidders for the third time to make the services run on a smooth platform. Mumbai prefers local trains and monorail becomes a monotonous joy ride if accidents take place because of lack of maintenance and power failures happen frequently making it run.
Thus monorail has become a white elephant and it is time to take a stand instead of just keeping it off track.
