Vidya received accolades for her performance in The Dirty Picture, which was directed by Milan Luthria. “Even I keep hearing. I am not thinking of biopic films. Once I confirm it, I will let you all know,” said Vidya.
The Paa actress will be seen in a special role in a biopic titled Ek Albela.
“I am not doing any preparation for the film. It’s a special appearance. It will release in January,” added Vidya.
Vidya will reportedly play the role of veteran actress Geeta Bali in the film.
Ek Albela traces the journey of Bhagwan Dada’s film career as an actor and director, and Vidya’s role will be credited as a special appearance.
The actress also thinks that the perception towards small budget films is gradually changing.
“There is a change in viewing preferences of audiences in India. Our audience is diverse. There is an appetite for every kind of film. Slowly we are seeing small films in theatres and with festivals like MAMI, things are going to get better. But this won’t change overnight. We have come a long way. It is refreshing to see new kind of films coming up,” she said.
