Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray launched a sharp attack on the BJP, accusing the ruling party of indulging in “dirty politics” under the guise of national security operations. Demanding a Special Session of Parliament to discuss the recently launched Operation Sindoor, Thackeray said that while India presents a united front internationally against Pakistan-based terrorism, BJP leaders are undermining that unity through political opportunism at home.
“Yes, we are demanding this Special Session,” Thackeray told reporters. “On one hand, the entire country — opposition and ruling — is standing together before the world to fight terrorism. But on the other hand, BJP leaders are politicizing Operation Sindoor. We want to fight this double game.”
He raised serious concerns about the recent Pahalgam terror attack, questioning whether the culprits had been apprehended. “The truth must come out. Who were these terrorists? Have they been caught? Where are they? Or have they entered the BJP itself?” Thackeray asked, making a provocative charge that stirred the political discourse further.

Addressing the government’s role in cultural matters, Thackeray also criticized the BJP’s recurring commentary around religious festivals like Eid al-Adha. “Why does the government feel the need to dictate how every festival should be celebrated — save water, save color, save this, save that. Let people breathe! The government’s job is not to interfere in festivals but to respond to farmers’ suicides and urban flooding. Focus on finding the four Pakistani terrorists, not on controlling how people celebrate,” he said.

The comments came after a high-level INDIA bloc meeting at Delhi’s Constitution Club, where leaders from 16 opposition parties signed a joint letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut emphasized the urgency of their appeal, stating, “This isn’t just another letter. It carries the voice of the public. We want a Special Session to review everything that’s happened in the country.”
With tensions escalating and criticism mounting over the handling of national security and internal governance, the demand for a Special Parliament Session has intensified — one that may further polarize the political landscape in the months leading to the general elections.
