Veteran actor Om Puri’s death comes as a shock and at 66 is too young an age to die. He was perhaps one of the finest character artist our country has ever produced and the void left by his death would be difficult to fill. A born actor who was determined to touch greatness through sheer hard work and dedication towards his chosen profession, Om Puri won many academic awards including the Padma Bhushan.
Some of his notable films included Ardha Satya, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ghayal Once Again and internationally acclaimed film ‘Gandhi’. Om Puri was a brilliant performer who entertained the masses with authoritative dialogue delivery and his fans truly are shocked at his death. Controversy in personal life apart from his open outburst did bring him to national headlines at times but it was the kind of films which he did for which he will be remembered for a long time to come! May his soul Rest in Peace!
