Are Railways prepared for the monsoons?

One of the escalators at Goregaon station on the West side is non-operational for over a week now and no effort is being made to repair the same. Technology is welcome but what is the use in spending so much money on it if they are not maintained or repaired at regular intervals. The company undertaking maintenance for escalators should be pulled up for the unusual delay and fined so that such things are not repeated in future.
The railways it seems are not fully prepared for the monsoons as even the basic roof is missing at many local stations. Platforms too need repairs at many places and hope the railways speed up pre-monsoon work so that commuters do not have to face hardship during rains. Also metro today is connected at Andheri and Ghatkopar stations and the authorities should work out a mechanism where one can buy a combined ticket for metro and local train to avoid standing in queue at two places and save time!
