Unlike others, Ranveer Singh is someone who has managed to stay out of controversies. But, this time a brand campaign has landed him in deep trouble. A few days ago, Tamil actor Siddharth called out the brand Jack & Jones for objectifying women after seeing a hoarding featuring Ranveer lifting a woman.

The huge social media outrage on the sexist ad made the brand to withdraw the hoarding after they issued an apology saying, “Regret that one of our billboards has caused distress. We didn’t intend to offend anyone with one of our billboards. #NOTHOLDINGBACK and withdrawing it immediately.”

As Ranveer Singh is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film Befikre, a statement was released to the media by him that stated, “It was important to give the brand creative freedom while designing their campaign, but I guess we got it wrong on one of those billboards and I’m sorry this happened but it’s a thing of the past. We rectified it immediately by having that hoarding taken down ASAP from everywhere over 30 cities overnight. I treat all women with the utmost respect both professionally and personally and would never do anything to disrespect them.”

On the work front, Ranveer Singh’s Befikre releases on December 9. Following the release, he will resume shooting for his next big film, Padmavati.
