Lokayukta and former Justice Madanlal Tahilyani is satisfied with investigations conducted by the Mumbai police pertaining to the road scam. So far police has arrested 26 persons and more arrests will follow after the conclusion of the probe.
RTI activist Anil Galgali had filed a complained with Lokayukta and former Justice Madanlal Tahilyani informing that why contracts has been allotted to those contractors who have been blacklisted? Mr Tahilyani has expressed that investigation is heading in the right direction. He also inquired with officers about the samples of materials used for road construction. Investigation officer Vijay Waghmare informed that they have contacted IIT for samples. List of officials likely to be arrested has been provided to Lokayukta. In this hearing BMC Engineering Department Director Lakshman Watkar, Chief Engineer S. O. Kori, Sanjay Darade and complainant Anil Galgali were present.
