Robbers have allegedly looted cash and jewellery worth Rs. 11.84 lakh from the residence of a builder in the Virar district, police said.
The builder had gone out-station along with his family. Some unidentified robbers broke into his house in between November 14-17 and looted golden ornaments and cash currency, which comprised now demonetised Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 notes kept in the locker of his cupboard, said PSI JD Thakur of Virar police station.
The booty comprised Rs. 3 lakh currency.
A case has been registered in this regard, Thakur said, adding, a probe was underway.
