Simplifying tax system

One country one tax and eliminating multiple taxes is the basic principle for introducing GST in the country which is also popular globally. Sindoor has been exempted from GST while other items of necessity and social needs like sanitary napkins, condoms, birth control pills may have been taxed but simplifying the taxation system was the basic idea behind GST which citizens should appreciate and obey so that people themselves are beneficiary of an robust tax collection.

The taxes which the government collects actually are then spent on public needs like infrastructure, environment, gardens, utilities etc which citizens enjoy. Government hitherto too collected taxes but most of it was lost in corruption and malpractices. GST would eliminate the disadvantages of the previous taxation system which would be visible in the long run. Some items may have been taxed differently from their earlier rates but GST would be a continuous process and government should be able to bring parity as time goes by as this initially is an experiment exercise. The rates overall are low and the government is banking that more people would pay taxes, thus increasing revenues inspite of low tax rates. GST would be a game changer and only those who were corrupt need to worry while other honest citizens can sit and relax to enjoy the gains from the new taxation system in the days to come!
