Tamil Nadu rattled

Power politics continue to haunt Tamil Nadu ever since the death of Dr. J. Jayalalithaa in December last year. The power struggle touched its murky end as both O Panneerselvam and V.K.Sasikala claiming majority support. If Sasikala fails to prove her majority in front of the Governor, O. Paneerselvam will get a chance and if he too doesn’t have majority then President’s rule will be imposed in the state and fresh elections will be called to decide the ultimate winner. Thus, Tamil Nadu politics is in tatters as of now and the drama could unfold with Governor calling Sasikala to form the next AIADMK government under her leadership. There are number of legal hurdles on the path of Sasikala assuming office. Unless and until her legal battles are cleared, the swearing-in of a tainted leader will face all opposition if she is found guilty and will have to leave her chair. Tamil Nadu politics is in total predicament and no one can guess who will be the winner in the rat race. DMK is lurking large for assuming in case of a collapse and may find O. Paneerselvam as its ally to make things move in their way in the end
