Terrorism in Kashmir

Ever since NDA Government took charge at the centre and PDP-BJP formed an alliance in Jammu & Kashmir, the government is trying to eliminate terrorists taking position in the state at every nook and corner of the valley. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief operational commander Abu Dujana was killed in Pulwama. Burhan Wani was killed in a planned and combined operation to create stir in enemy’s camp. To add to the worry of terrorists’ demonetisation crippled the funds management and the activities came to standstill in November-December last year.  Apart from Abu Dujana his associate Arif Nabi Lelhari was also killed along with him. Dujana had survived five major encounters in the past. The ardent terrorists Dujana and Lelhari were tracked by security agencies. The house was subsequently blasted. They were working on a specific input and were real threat to the State. This caused unrest as the locals condemned the killings of terrorists in the encounter. Security forces allegedly opened fire when locals, throwing stones, tried to converge on the encounter site. It is reliably understood that despite disruptions by protesters, the security forces will continue their operations and cull terrorism from the grassroot very soon.
