Buoyed by Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) outstanding performance in Maharashtra local body elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday that it reflected the wide support for party’s agenda of transparency.

Addressing the press here, he said, “I thank people of Maharashtra, it’s an unprecedented victory. Very grateful to the people of Mumbai, it’s a big victory for BJP given by Mumbai. This huge victory for BJP is on the agenda of transparency.”

At the same time, the CM thanked PM Narendra Modi and said, “This win is because of PM Modi’s leadership. The way Mumbai has voted for BJP, voters have reflected the trust on PM and BJP.”

“We performed really good in Zilla Parishads too,” Fadnavis added.

The BJP made decisive gains in civic polls in Maharashtra.

Apart from Mumbai, the city corporations which went to polls were Thane, Ulhasnagar, Nashik, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Akola, Amravati and Nagpur.

On the other hand, the results of 10 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, have seen the Congress plummeting to a new low with the lowest ever tally in the BMC and losing Solapur and Amravati to the BJP.
