This time a TV journalist of a vernacular news channel was attacked by a rowdy gang of local train commuters. Stone throwing, stealing ladies hand bags were common in local. Now hooliganism is also started in a moving train. The scribe, who was on the way to the CBI office to cover the development in the Nirav Modi case, was brutally thrashed by eight commuters, who even threatened to throw his out of the running train. These gangs have virtually usurped the rake for all practical purposes by virtue of their daily commute. Journalists have no freedom of press and the way the scribe was treated, revealed the insecurity while travelling in local trains. After all the happenings RPF personnel are going to travel in local trains in plain clothes to check the menace. It is a right step in the right direction to give such cover to the travelling public in the local trains. This measure will stop untoward incidents taking place in the name of hooliganism.
