Voting percentage could have been better

Almost one out of two eligible voter did not cast his vote though voting percentage was comparatively higher this time at around 53 percentage which was good going but could have been better. BMC elections are very important as quality of life in the city depends on the quality of people we elect to represent us in the Corporation and every citizen of the city should have exercised his vote for a better life in the city.

Around 12 lakhs name were missing in the voter list this time which was a shocker and needs to be investigated by an top level team of experts in such matters. We call ourselves an technologically advanced nation but such ommissions was shocking and should act as an eye-opener. People responsible for it should be taken to task and so that the voter list is updated for future elections as every vote counts.

People who do not vote for no reason should be penalised by way of withdrawal of subsidies and other benefits the govt provides to the people to improve voting percentage in future elections!
