Increasing holidays affecting productivity

Public holidays are increasing as the political parties play vote bank politics and declare holidays as per their own whims and fancies.  With the result we come across many holidays in a calendar year and making people lazy. India’s population is also simultaneously increasing with both husband and wife are at home. The country’s productivity is going down drastically and the particular State where maximum holidays are declared suffer the most. Students get less number of lecture time and they are forced to resort to private tuition classes to prune up their skills. It is time to prune down holidays to enhance production in a commercial capital like Mumbai. In the past, Parsi New Year was declared as a holiday.  But later on it was withdrawn and again was included into the holiday list due to political pressure.  The peculiarity with the holiday like Parsi New year is that children attend their school and colleges and parents are left home alone and giving scope for increasing population.  Apart from this strikes and bundhs add to the holidays and making people more and more lethargic. Some private companies allow restricted holidays over and above the regular holidays.  In all holidays keep the people unoccupied for a longer period and the devil’s mind make the people to resort to more slumber and the production suffer the most in a developing country like India.
