Citizens paying price for bad roads

BMC’s tall claims about monsoon preparedness exists only on paper and road users suffered the maximum throughout the monsoon period.  Heavy rain chokes the city roads and the two wheeler users suffered the most. Instead of having user friendly roads during the rainy season, we were made to manoeuvre through pot holes, craters and water filled death traps. Why the civic body is showing apathy towards using tax payer’s money for road repairs with permanent solutions. It is notable several parts of the city is experiencing rain water flooding and this made the people wade through knee high water with number of manholes kept open to clear the water stagnation.  Drivers have to face huge inconvenience due to potholes as they will have to negotiate through all these craters filled with water to escape from serious mishaps during the monsoon season. Even the life span of tyre is coming down drastically when motorists drive through these problematic roads. Number of road users lose their lives for no fault of theirs as the potholes make it a killer road. The civic body has failed to address the problem of water logging prevailing in various parts of the city. People have to pay heavy price while using bad roads in the city.
