A long wait

The 2002-03 serial blast shook the bussiest part of city and the people ran here and there and ran for cover. Ten convicted and the punishment will be handed out to the convicts after 13 years wait. The blasts during peak hour rush saw Mumbai’s business life crippled and left over 100 people injured in a major shake up. It all happened at Mumbai Central’s McDonalds, Market place in Vile Parle (east) and in Karjat local at Mulund station. These were the first major acts of terror witnessed by Mumbai after the 1993 serial blasts. It appeared as though the terrorists could attack Mumbai at will. The three acquitted in 2002-03 blasts by a POTA court judge are now at a precarious position and does not know how to start from the scratch in rebuilding their lives. For them 13 years is a life time and they will feel it throughout the rest of their lives.
