Uttarakhand trust vote drama has sent a message to BJP headquarters that it is not a cake walk if you hold power at the centre to topple the state government. We heard of Congress doing the dirty trick in the past and now we come across BJP is also falling prey with their own likes and dislikes. By recommending and enforcing President’s role in the State BJP tried to play its card close to its chest. But better council prevailed with Supreme Court taking the case in right earnest and putting a stay and thereby giving Mr. Rawat a second chance to prove his majority. This his did in style and the house drama ended. It is a matter of concern how the President agreed to such a hasty decision instead of putting a rider on why there is a need for a President’s rule in an otherwise peaceful state. Now it is one more lesson for BJP with State elections commencing in the next week. It is indeed a rejoinder for BJP and toppling state governments is not so easy.
