Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is facing another ticklish situation as the Supreme Court talks tough about the affairs of the controversial board. The authorities of the board were critical about the Lodha Panel recommendations and now facing further wrath from the Supreme Court as well. In a critical indictment of the BCCI, the Supreme Court charged the independent body as a mutually beneficial society and that did nothing to promote the game. The down slide of the standard of the game since winning the 2011 World Cup is the clear indication of our poor show in the field of play. We could not produce a pair of opening batsmen to withstand the pace of World class swinging balls and failed in playing bouncing balls for over 84 years of Indian cricket. This is due to the fact that we lack genuine fast bowlers to get maximum practise and the wickets in NCA are batsmen friendly as we would like to have batsmen free from injuries. Instead of playing lethal speed bowling we practise with wet tennis balls to prune up our batting skills. MRF Pace Foundation is just going through the motions and not able to produce tall fast bowlers with penetrative bowling. We kill cricket in India and it was rightly pointed out by the Supreme Court.
