Six hardcore terrorists including Khalistani Liberation Front militant leader Harminder Mintoo escaping from a jail in Punjab comes as a shock. Can jails in India be trusted when hardcore terrorist escape from cells and this is serious breach of security which is very dangerous for our nation. Tomorrow, criminals imprisoned in various jails too may escape which could create law and order problem across the nation and this security issue needs to be addressed at the earliest.
Surgical strike in jail reforms and security is the need of the hour. Our country is under revamp mode and immediate action is needed to beef up security at jails so that such lapses do not happen again. People responsible for helping terrorists to escape needs to put behind bars as such incidents cannot occur without their support. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should look into this security lapse issue personally and order a high level inquiry. The terrorists it seems took advantage of the demonetisation commotion in the country where more cops were stationed at banks than at jails and police stations. It’s time to bring normalcy in the country so that these incidents do occur in future.
