Brathwaite turns tide in the Caribbean’s favour

Four conservative sixes in as many deliveries to win an World Cup final is unprecedented in cricket history and West Indies deserves all accolades for winning the T-20 World Cup in style when nobody gave them a chance in the last over when 19 runs were needed to topple the Englishmen. Marlon Samuels was the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 85 but it was breathtaking cameo from Carlos Brathwaite which turned tides in the Caribbeans favour as he blasted Stokes into the stands with 4 hits over the line that made this memorable win possible. Champion Gayle failed yet again but this bunch of West Indians have true performers who don’t depend on an individual for victory. This team had no sponsors, no t-shirts and no support staff when they landed here but somehow managed on their own but their killing cricket proves you only need determination and the will to become Champions. Their women team too played superlative cricket to win the women’s event and this is history in the making that their Under-19 side too are the World Champions. Well done West Indies for your superlative cricket as T-20 is all about entertainment and spectators truly enjoyed some of the greatest innings ever played in this format in this tournament!
