Champion of Charity!

Kudos to big bull of the Indian stock market Rakesh Jhunjunwala for pledging to donate Rs.5000 crore towards charity by 2021 when he turns 60 that year. The amount is slightly less than a billion dollars in today’s value is a stupendous sum and the entire nation of over a billion population salute this big hearted equity investor who is a legend in his own right. Rakesh joins the elite list of Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Azim Premji and their tribe who have been doing a lot of charity over the years. Industrialists and all those who can spare some money for charity should take a leaf out of their books to do something for the unfortunate and have-nots of the society. You don’t have to be rich to do charity and we all must do something for the society. Those without money can donate their precious time to help the disabled. Politicians too should emulate Jhunjunwala and even a mere gesture of eradicating corruption (not accepting bribe) can work wonders for our country thereby paving way for economic growth which indirectly would mean reducing poverty in the country! Charity is the best way to please the Almighty as it is an act that brings a smile on the faces of millions who are God’s creations. Let us all do our bit so that there is not a single soul on earth who sleeps with an empty stomach!
