CRMaharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Tuesday said that underworld don Chhota Rajan, who was nabbed at Bali airport on his arrival from Australia last month, will be brought to Mumbai.

“Chhota Rajan will be brought to Mumbai,” he said here but did not give further details.

He said that all security arrangements are in place for Rajan to be brought to the metropolis.

The CM also tweeted that Mumbai Police Commissioner Ahmed Javed will brief the media soon on the issue.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Ahmed Javed on Tuesday stressed that there is no question of staking claim over Chhota Rajan’s custody as “he will eventually come here”. Addressing a press conference, he said, “There is no question of staking claim. We will go by the rules and adequate security and precaution will be taken while taking his custody.”

Responding to Rajan’s allegation that some Mumbai policemen are linked with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Javed said, “I do not want to respond to an allegation made by a gangster.”

On October 25, Rajan was arrested in Bali on his arrival from Australia. On the context of whether he is afraid of returning to Mumbai, Rajan said, “The government can keep me anywhere in Delhi or Mumbai. But there should be no injustice done to me. All cases against me are false.”

On Sunday, a team of sleuths comprising officers from CBI, Mumbai and Delhi police, reached Bali to get Rajan’s custody with a dossier on Rajan and his involvement in various crimes in India.
