City’s infrastructure project gets a boost

Mumbai city’s lifeline is local trains and we wish to have more comfortable journey through the local corridor. Moreover, we expect a safe journey as well as accidents are part and parcel of the system in place at present. Railway Minister is trying his best to put city’s rail infrastructure on track and thereby reduce the tension undergone by the regular passengers. Suresh Prabhu was at Matunga to celebrate centenary of carriage workshop there. The workshop has also been at the forefront of designing the ‘Green Toilet’, a system that prevents water wastage and helps in corrosion of rail tracks, which is currently used in many Indian rail services. We expect drastic changes in the functioning of the local rail transport system with Air-conditioner locals to be introduced first in the Harbour line. Moreover CST beautification work is pending for a long time and with heritage status given to the building we need to have a rational outlook to modernise the station complex. But the much needed elevated corridor between Bandra and Virar will be boon for a faster mode of train travel. Again, the CST – Churchgate underground link will connect the two places of high importance in the commercial capital. In all we wish to have safe travel in local suburban rail system. It is proud to have Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu as he is working on fast track for the welfare of the people of Mumbai.
