Congress party could not digest the success enjoyed by BJP in the two year stint and criticised the latter for its failures. The Congress paid amble lip service to Bachchan but also questioned his choice by the Modi Sarkar as the host of five hour marathon television show to mark its completion of two years in office. The Bachchans and the Gandhis have been family friends during the days of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, but their relationship has severed.
