Delhi is India’s pollution capital

Pollution levels in Delhi and fog cover across the city has reached alarming levels and this is a matter of grave concern.  Level of pollution is rising as people have to wear masks if they have to leave their homes for work. Cricket matches have been abandoned and flights cancelled which does not speak well about our country. Most of the problems are manmade as environment has been abused time and again for commercial purposes. Waste chemical gases are released in air which causes irritation in the eyes. Waste too is burnt in open spaces which is the reason for rising pollution level in the capital. Time for emergency health care measures to deal with the situation and both State and Central government should forget about their differences and combined effort is needed to take corrective actions to deal with this emergency. The situation in other metropolitan cities too is equally bad mostly on account of fuel pollution and its time our country has an action plan to deal with the situation, else lung and heart diseases would be on the rise and that would be a disaster for the country!
