Swimming pool tragedies are happening because of negligence and it is time for taking drastic steps to avoid such mishaps in future. Kalyan building drowning case is one more striking example for negligence on the part of the lifeguard. Miserable drowning deaths sends wrong signal among the parents sending their wards for training in swimming pools in the city. Many deaths have occurred inside water and this is a cause for worry. During summer season lots of Coaching Camps are conducted in the city and trainees go inside water without much exposure in swimming.
Unless there are lifeguards with proper training and experience, the life of wards going for such training is at high risk. Permission should not be given to children for going deep inside water. Parents sending their children to these swimming pools are having sleepless nights. Swimming pools were also death traps during last summer vacation also. So these pools must be declared as dangerous spots and proper instructions will have to be displayed and followed to avoid further disasters. Children going for swimming classes will have to take all the precautions and see that lifeguards are available before joining the training. Negligence of lifeguards resulted in instant death of children in many cases. It is quite imperative that such accidents are taking place because of carefree attitude of authorities in charge and the lifeguards manning these pools.
