Girls outshine boys

Girls have outshined boys in the Maharashtra State Board Secondary Certificate (SSC) examinations and have once again proved that they are second to none with a stupendous performance. Interestingly, the board hardly implemented its much-touted result improvement scheme. It also did not take corrective measures to reduce the stress of the students and the so-called counselling of the students related to just dissuading them from the suicidal path. Maharashtra State achieved 85.6% from the 86.4% last year and there is need for putting more efforts by teachers and students to score well.  As there are only 2.69 lakh first year seats, there will be a tough competition for the 3.19 lakh students from the Mumbai division in the passed out list. It will be a testing time for students to stake claim for a seat.
