Implementing climate deal

The meeting of the two world’s two largest democracies discussed steps to implement Paris climate deal and also discussed financing for India’s ambitious plans to expand solar and clean energy. This is a great initiative to use the technology and know-how for utilising the solar energy throughout the Indian sub-continent. US plans to finance solar plants were also discussed in the talks and it was meaningful and purposeful. The steps taken to implement Paris climate change agreement is a landmark decision and the move will come into force as quickly as possible. The two leaders also welcomed the start of preparatory work on six nuclear reactors in India, a key step in closing the first deal stemming from a US-India civil nuclear accord, which was struck over a decade now. Once completed the project would be among the largest of its kind, fulfilling the promise of the US-India civil nuclear agreement demonstrating a shared commitment to meet India’s growing energy needs while reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Thus a breakthrough in lines with India’s developmental aspect opened up new avenues for both the countries to come together in future assignments as well.
