Jhajharia makes India proud

The man with the golden arm, Devendra Jhajharia helped Indian contingent at Rio Paralympics by winning a gold medal and that created a stir in the sporting circle. Generally field sports like Javelin belongs to the European countries with well- built athletes in their ranks. Devendra surprised everyone with a second gold in this event after winning the 2004 gold as well at Athens. Right from the beginning Devendra hurled the javelin. He was confidence personified and made sure that his country annexe the gold with a throw of 63.97 m distance bettering his own record in the year 2004. Training in Finland did the trick for Jhajharia and he came out with flying colours in an individual event. This is his fourth big achievement and out of that two was gold winning performances and that too in the Paralympics and that shows his real class at a time when our contingent for the regular Olympics in Rio lagged behind and lacked killer instinct and failed at the altar. Devendra and his fellow athletes performed better and kept the Indian tri-colour flying. Play for a win was the aim of the Rajasthan participant and he made it big with a huge leap and fine throw which saw him claim the number one position in the podium finish.
