Judicial reforms are the need of the hour!

Heaps of cases have piled up in family and other court’s of our country which are dragged for decades for one reason or the other which truly is a stigma on our country’s judicial system. Many times even the judges remain absent and people who have turned up for their court hearing from far flung places and at times from different cities have to face lot of hardships.

The functioning of the court’s too move at a snail’s pace and the subject matter of the case too gets diluted over a period of time. Often people are advised for ‘out of court settlement’ which is nothing but a comprise which speaks poorly of our judiciary. Judicial reforms are the need of the hour and our Parliament should pass a legislature ordinance by which a time limit must be set under which the judgment should be delivered. Judges and lawyers along with people who have cases pending should be reprimanded and fined if they do not turn up for hearing without any valid reason. Also, with cases on the rise due to growing population, number of judges and court’s too should be increased so that judgement can be delivered within the stipulated time limit!
