Pop star Justin Bieber has found his purpose in life again after losing his way.
The Canadian singer has had a number of low points in the last couple of years, including brushes with the law for DUI and throwing eggs at a neighbour’s house, as well as his on-off relationship with Selena Gomez, but now Justin is now back on track, picking up five MTV EMAs on Sunday (25Oct15) as he gears up to release his new album, Purpose.
“The reason I named it Purpose was because for a while there I feel like I lost my purpose, and I feel like I found my purpose again,” he revealed to BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. “Maybe that message is to say that, no matter how far you feel like you are away from yourself or you feel like you don’t have your purpose, or you don’t know what your purpose is, or you feel like you lost your purpose – there’s always room to find that purpose again.”
Justin was thrilled to be the big winner at the awards ceremony in Milan, Italy, where he performer his hit track What Do You Mean? and he told Nick it’s time to put his past misdemeanours behind him and focus on the future.
“The fact that people weren’t open to me making mistakes was almost really hypocritical, because we all know, if you’re 19 and 20 and making mistakes… of course I have access to a lot more stuff and I’m under a microscope, I got cameras on me all the time,” he explained. “So I understand, but I’m done really apologising.”
Justin is relieved that his new music has been so well received because in the past he hasn’t always put out the songs he wanted to.
“I never was really able to make the music that I wanted to make, and I was really young, and I had people telling me what to record and giving me songs and stuff, so it really wasn’t my music,” he confessed. “It was, but it wasn’t. So I’m glad now that I really have a say in what I do, and feel like this is my project.”
