Monsoon Mayhem

As in the past, monsoon rains are just playing hide and seek game for the couple of years and this year also it is delayed by a fortnight.  It’s not at all a good news as we are an agriculture country and our farmers are looking at the sky to get their land receives sufficient rain water so that they can start the work in good earnest and avoid disappointment. Already, the farmers are dying as the famine conditions continue to deprive the farmers a resounding harvest season and the failure of crops put them in quandary to pay their dues to the Banks in time. As the weather forecast is not perfect despite the services of satellites, we did feel the pinch as the water level is dwindling to a abysmal low.  Global warming is considered as the cause for scanty rain fall in Maharashtra in general and Marathwada in particular. Mumbai weather bureau is looking out the reason for delay. The progress of rains is encouraging and we expect a rainfall of 106 per cent this year and the surge is on the cards. The monsoon mayhem continues to make the life miserable in Western part of India as people run hither and thither for drinking water. The position is becoming bad to worse every day.
