Public opinion go a long way in bringing out new ideas and give an impetus to have best budget proposal in the days to come. Planning is of utmost importance if BMC wants to implement developmental projects in the metro city. First of all, the Mumbai airport is facing problems of bird hits and we hear about hit and miss cases as well in a congested airport. The hutment near the airport creates lots of security problems and after long deliberations the clearance of the surrounding slums is slot to give greater mobility of planes landing and taking off from the airport. By clearing the surroundings of all the obstacles it will take years to complete and meticulous planning is required to make the Airport of International standards. BMC can take the help of a committee comprising citizens from Mumbai and work on the planning based on the recommendations by the said committee. It is time to project more parks in the open spaces spread all over the city. Aarey Milk Colony is given a pride of place and many major projects are coming up in the vicinity. The Mahalakshmi Race Course is of World standards and should generate substantial income and needs to be maintained. Grounds like Oval maidan, Azad Maidan, Cross Maidan and Shivaji Park should have best playing facilities for the cricketers produced from these particular grounds. The city should be properly covered and all the scenic beauty should be properly maintained. Mumbai should be made pollution free through various measures. Metro should be a model for other cities in India as well. Planning is a must for planting trees as well. Mumbaikars need to have a clean, green city so as to enable us to maintain No 10 tag.
