The initiative of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in saving water is highly educative and make people realize the pathetic position we are facing in case monsoon fail for the second year in succession. Every drop counts and we should make a concerted effort to save water at all levels. Wasting precious water during the Holi festival should be avoided and the state government has issued stern instructions to people to desist from wasting water. After all water is precious. According to International norms, an individual needs 135 litres of  water every day, but people use water carelessly. Steps should be taken to make people aware about proper water usage. Big wall posters are to be pasted at the entrance of each building and blocks, to remind people about wastage of water. Even a pictorial of tap with water tricking away showing a X at the drop of water from the pipe, to make people realize about wastage of water with the supervision of Corporation will work. BMC is right in plugging leaks and make sure that these tasks continue on regular intervals. Small drops of water make an ocean and hence we need to save water for the future consumption as well. Though we have a stock of water till July end we should make sure that water is used only for the domestic purpose on priority basis and not wasted at any cost to face the grim situation in the best way possible.
