Railway stations needs facelift

Railway stations in India is not up to the desired level and need cleanliness and user friendly facilities for the differently-abled persons.  After all cleanliness is next to godliness. As the railway stations are used by thousands of commuters, the waiting room and the toilets should to be well maintained. NGOs are working hard to give a facelift to 36 stations of Mumbai. We need to give importance to the history of the place as foreigners are visiting India only to know about its historical significance. So, upkeep of these places of importance is a must. From the Railway Stations, the tourists should get a proper feedback and detailed write up about the place of importance and it will prove as a guiding force for them. Instead of appointing private guides, the stations should hire Government approved escorts for providing authentic information to tourists about historical places.

The railways stations run the risk of hooligans, rogues and thieves wandering around looking for prey all the time. Ladies should be provided security if they are new to a particular place. Information centre should carry all the information and facilities provided in the stations. Transportation facilities should be provided from the station to historical places as nation can earn foreign exchange through such endeavour. Railway stations need a facelift to overcome all the shortcomings.
